About Us

The Princeton House is a highly-structured, Twelve Step retreat, sober living environment for men. Each guest will be held to a high level of individual accountability and be required to constantly strive for personal growth.

Our main purpose is to provide each guest with a comprehensive immersion through the Twelve Steps to achieve a lifetime of recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. The Princeton House is solely operated by men who have recovered from addiction as the result of a vital Twelve Step experience and have dedicated their lives to helping others experience that common solution. “Getting clean” was a process that we had experienced over and over again, but staying clean was our downfall.

We believe the true process of recovery starts with addressing our internal character defects, and, in turn, help others to do the same. Altruism and an ever-constant reminder of the welfare of others is at the heart and soul of what we practice each day at The Princeton House. These goals and values have been the foundation on which we, and many addicts, have built their recovery upon, and against all odds, have found a lifetime of lasting recovery to be possible.

We are not a detox or a medical facility nor do we employ health care professionals, therapists, or social workers.

Prior to admission we require an initial interview either in-person or over the phone.

All guests must be medically cleared by a detox prior to admission unless otherwise determined by staff, and will be required to pass a drug screen/breathalyzer upon arrival.

It is recommended that each guest commit to a minimum stay of six months, as this is where we tend to see the highest success rate of recovery within the Twelve Steps.

Payment of the first month will be required upon first day of admission.

All guests at The Princeton House are treated as family because we ARE a family. Our staff will provide constant communication with families regarding the progress of their loved one.
